Welcome to the new look blog.
Still a few things to change/fix/improve but my chum Mohammad and I are getting there.
IT isn’t really my thing. Come to think of it Social Media is not exactly my forte, but I am willing to give it ago, so check out the Twitter, Facebook and Instagram links too. In for a penny.
I am hoping to add a music page soon. I have played some sort of music since I was big enough to bang a pan with a spoon. Growing up I played in wind bands, orchestras, brass bands and eventually embraced punk and bought my first bass. . I love music. Hence, usually, where ever we live, we try to put a band together, playing. for beer and giggles. Over the years, we have played in Sfax, Tunisia, Jakarta, Indonesia, Doha in Qatar and Abu Dhabi here in the UAE. Dubai is proving a harder nut to crack. Finding good, reliable players has proved difficult, but getting a gig here, almost impossible.
But, I have delved in the archives and found loads of pictures, recordings, some video and lots of music anecdotes. Better yet, suitably inspired, I have been contacting my old band mates from around the world, hoping to get together somewhere, some time and play again.
Watch this space to see how this develops. Follow the progress and meet some of the very talented musicians I have been fortunate to be associated with over the years. Some are still playing, so hopefully, I’ll be able to share their current bands and music with you too.
Assuming Mohammad figures out how to fit it all in. But I have faith in him.
Stay tuned, enjoy the ramblings and subscribe to TheWannaBeScot . You know it makes sense.
Hulk (Harley), Wannabe and Hellboy (Stu), rocking our stuff in Abu Dhabi
Looks a bit flash….

So you were in a band before? What’s the band name!?throw something together for us then
I think my band days might be over. Not a lot of musical opportunities in Iraq

Is it the government a bit stiffer there? Then again this is just music not clothing. I have been to this country before. Not for a concert but a job. I would love to be back someday.
Music is a big tool of relaxation for me. It one universal language that can keep everyone together. Good to know this about you.
I love to meet great musicians too, because they can be inspiring with their different way of playing music and even their lyrics too.
“Follow the progress and meet some of the very talented musicians I have been fortunate to be associated with over the years”….. this is key to complete and fulfilled live. Enjoy Graham while it last

Great work incorporating social media into the blog. I think it’s a neat touch.
I really look forward to the music page. It should be a welcome addition.
It will be interesting to see the kind of music you share once you add a music page. I can’t wait!
I had no idea you actually performed gigs. This is a new side to you I’m seeing.
It’s great that you were able to get in touch with your former band mates. I hope you guys get together and make some more music soon.
I am so excited for you. I hope to hear a lot of your music soon.
A music section is exactly what this blog needs. You could also add a section for cars since it’s also one of your passions.
I think the social media intergration is a very good tool. It makes it easier to share your tales on social media.
I am happy to see that you are going to be exploring and sharing with us your musical side more. Great times ahead.
Congratulations on the new additions to the blog and I wish you the best with the additions you have planned for the future too. Growth is always welcome.
I agree music tends to transcend race let alone language. I should know given the popularity of K pop in my area which is different from my own culture but still I enjoy it. I guess the same goes for you.
This is certainly a change of pace. I cannot say to add this and that because this is your blog. However, just put your passion into writing and it will always be a cool thing. In this case a music subject? Rock on!!!
Thanks Kurt, may well do something musical soon.
